Bethany McBride-Hobbs

"Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world." — Nelson Mandela. Pursuing a Criminal Justice Master's degree has been a part of my plans for the future. My name is Bethany Hobbs I am a Lieutenant Investigator for the DeWitt County Sheriff's Office. I have been an Investigator for six years, and 14 years total in Law Enforcement. Winston Churchill once said, "Success consists of going from failure to failure without the loss of enthusiasm". Moreover, while I never define my obstacles as "failures", I mark my success by my repeated perseverance through adversity. I have faced several challenges over the years, from my daughter having a near-drowning accident ; yet I continued to earn exemplary grades and provide for my children. I would be honored to be the recipient of scholarships. If I receive scholarships, it will help me continue my education as I rely heavily on Scholarships. With my education, I can help my community with mental health, resources, guidance, and justice. You are not just helping me get through college. You are improving the quality of life for countless families and victims to come.
