About

My name is Rachel Ahn, and I am currently studying mathematics education at Rutgers University’s Graduate School of Education.
With a summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in mathematics, I now work as a substitute teacher for elementary through high school students. Through this role, I have learned to adapt my teaching style to the needs of the student, and I am able to break down difficult concepts into smaller steps. I hope to become a math teacher in the future.

Graduate school interests

I am interested in mathematics education, specifically how to create effective mathematics lessons in secondary classrooms.

Outside the classroom

When I am not studying or working, I like to make art. I love painting, drawing, making pop-up cards, making rock art, and knitting. I made several pop-up cards during the pandemic and sold them, donating 30% of my profits to www.feedingamerica.org. In addition, I like to sing, watch movies, and hang out with my friends.
