Sara Garcia

Hello! My name is Sara Garcia, I am (currently, 5/27/23) 29 years old and currently attending Southern New Hampshire University via their online accredited program for my Bachelor's in Creative Writing & English!

My goal overall is to not only complete my major at SNHU, and afterwards go on to earn my certificate in Editing at the University of Chicago via their online certification program. With this, I will have mastered the Chicago Manual of Styles and be given a first-hand look at the writing, editing, and publishing process for book publishing.

Career-wise, I want to become a book editor and proofreader. For the majority of my life, I have loved everything having to do with books, reading, and writing. I would love to publish my own book one day, but my primary focus is in helping polish and shape people's work so they might have a shot of sharing their stories and see their creations come to life between freshly printed pages. I have always enjoyed the detail-oriented and nuanced elements of writing and editing, and I feel I would be quite at home helping turn raw materials into something more polished and ready to present to a publisher.

I have gained my Associates of Arts degree in general education through Coconino Community College (AZ), and have had brief stints in other schools (Northland Pioneer College and Northern Arizona University), before ultimately selecting Southern New Hampshire University as my academic home for my degree.
