About

I am currently an undergraduate student who has an interest in majoring in Kinesiology at Humboldt State University in Arcata, CA. I am a dedicated athlete; I have participated in several sport activities and teams since I was 4. Mainly I have spent most of my younger years swimming competitively (14 years). However, I decided that I didn't want to continue swimming but instead I wanted to row in college. I am currently on the Division 2 women's rowing team at Humboldt State. During the summers, I work full-time at a private swim club; I am a swim coach and a lifeguard. I provide leadership towards the swimmers and the fundamentals/techniques of all 4 of the swimming strokes. I motivate and drive the swimmers to perform their very best at swim meets. Since I admire athletes and working out, I became eagerly curious about the human body. I have always been interested, concerned, and in-tuned about how the human body functions; Kinesiology automatically caught my full, undivided attention. Eventually, I want to continue my education and go more in depth in Kinesiology at Grad school and find a suitable career.

Goals and interests

Career goal

Unfortunately, I have not fully decided what my intended career will be. Fortunately, I have narrowed my choices down to 2: an Athletic Trainer or a Personal Trainer. I am that type of person who cares about peoples health and I will put all my effort, time and management to help people achieve their goals. But, I also care about peoples injuries when they work out. I want to provide them with good technique and be able to cure or better their injuries and pains. Both careers are exactly what I am looking for, but I still have plenty of time and opportunities to make a wise decision for my future.

Graduate school interests

I have highly considered getting my masters degree for Kinesiology. Kinesiology has become a very competitive field and requires a great amount of degrees, internships, volunteering, etc. to be competitive within the the field. I have not decided which grad school I would like attend.

Outside the classroom

During my free time, I swim laps, run or lift. I love to hike and go on adventures in the redwood forests in Arcata, CA. I love to travel and explore new places and sites.
