About

I am Janna Parsons, a leader shaped by humble beginnings in the serene countryside of North Carolina. Days begin at 4 a.m., surrounded by farm animals' awakening sounds while discovering my life rhythm. Self-compassion, love, and pain guided me through a journey of faith, family, responsibilities, and career aspirations. Growing up in a charming farming community taught me the importance of generosity, integrity, honesty, dependability, and respect for everyone (thing). Chasing school buses with untied shoelaces and my lunch box in hand, my childhood dreams began to take shape as planned, fueled by the relentless pursuit of a brighter future, transforming into a plan of academic and professional excellence. I was raised in an environment where manual labor and discipline were not just a term but a way of life, inherited from positive role models who laid the basis for my formative years, instilling many values and developing a perspective of time management and productivity despite the long days and countless chores. However, I never let my studies suffer, constantly pushing myself to be tougher. Balancing academics, sports (my first passion, tennis), and family taught me resilience and leadership, which defined my journey. Being awarded star athlete of the year during my junior and senior years, I became a recognizable figure driven by ambition and a genuine passion for connecting with people. Despite a sports injury redirecting my path, I channeled my motivation rather than succumbing to adversity. I discovered my second passion in the restaurant business while helping my uncle with his diner.
This experience and a determined spirit led me to become a regional manager of twenty-eight stores across three states, which laid the foundation for my resilient character. I am confident in judiciously investing scholarship funds in my studies and striving for academic success while representing your association with honor. Embracing leadership roles within the community, school, church, and among my colleagues.

Goals and interests

Career goal

Sharing the heart of my business goals lies a deep commitment to empowering individuals through education, fostering innovation, and societal improvement at the core of my entrepreneurial vision. I envision a future where quality education transcends socioeconomic barriers and catalyzes economic growth. My mission involves optimizing resource utilization and recognizing that excessive resource squandering is a standard business practice. My proposal emphasizes a shift from wasteful practices to strategic resource allocation, even if it is a little from each resource since human wants are unlimited. My goal is to redirect surplus resources towards education and essential needs within the community, then at the state level, and my dream would be at the national level. This reallocation strategy creates more opportunities and addresses unemployment and dependence on welfare, benefiting businesses and individuals. It enables companies to expand, providing employment opportunities and facilitating access to higher education through scholarships and vocational programs. By transforming surplus wants into meaningful contributions, businesses can enjoy tax deductions while bridging educational gaps and empowering individuals for a brighter future. Furthermore, I believe in providing equal learning opportunities to create an inclusive business model to reduce scarcity and prioritize financial aid. I aim to offer a "second chance" for education to any U.S. Citizen who feels they never got that chance to achieve their goal in getting that second chance, enabling their pursuit through grants, scholarships, and work-study programs. Your foundation's support will help my educational journey and move me closer to my goal of contributing to my financial burden. United with strategic partnerships and an ethical work environment, my business goal will be to deliver quality services at an affordable price where we will not say NO to anyone. This socially responsible approach aims to generate meaningful employment opportunities. It serves as an incentive for providing essential resources and services, especially in low-income communities. Gazing beyond the immediate impact on individual lives, my enduring business objective is cultivating a skilled and diverse workforce by facilitating individuals to return to school or work. Through strategic investments in education, I aim to nurture a generation of professionals who are proficient academically and equipped with values, skills, and resilience crucial for success in our ever-evolving global landscape. Aligned with my unwavering commitment to diversity, I aspire to champion programs promoting STEAM education, recognizing its pivotal role in driving innovation and addressing complex challenges. With the support of your scholarship, I intend to inspire the next generation of forward-thinkers, creators, and analytical people, positively shaping the future. Your foundation's investment in my education will create a far-reaching ripple effect, empowering me to become a scholar ambassador for positive change. Leveraging my education to uplift others, I am determined to contribute significantly to the overall advancement of society, unlocking the transformative potential inherent in education. I am enthusiastic about expressing my aspirations to your esteemed scholarship foundation, recognizing the transformative impact your support could bring to my journey. Volunteering

  • I embrace leadership roles within the community, school, church, and among my colleagues. In addition to my academic pursuits, I dedicate my spare time to volunteering at my church clothes closet/food bank in NC. Contributing regularly on Tuesdays and alternate Saturdays by distributing food boxes and facilitating a free shopping experience for those in need. Our community engages in fundraising events throughout the year, such as The Po' Boy event. The Hayride spaghetti dinner with a Chinese auction for charity in October is just one of our many fun events.
