Goals and interests

Career goal

The career I am striving for is Secondary Education. My dream is to become a High School Biology teacher, who provides a safe and trusted classroom that helps students achieve academically as well as prepare them for their future endeavors.

Graduate school interests

I plan to move to Mississippi to be closer to family as well as complete my Masters in Education at the University of Oxford. While completing my Masters degree, I hope to teach High School Biology in Mississippi, preferably in and/or close to the Batesville area.

Outside the classroom

My hobbies include playing disc golf, being a part-time photographer, reading novels, riding trails on my four-wheeler, and learning sign language. A majority of my hobbies are shared with my husband as he is the greatest support system for all of my accomplishments.

Volunteering

  • When I visit family on weekends in Mississippi, I volunteer my weekend days at Grace Place Christian Church to help prepare food bags and separate clothing for those in need. I deliver food bags (two full bags of dry food and one bag of cold food) to their cars. This organization is all about giving to those who are in need, and it is fulfilling to know I am a part of God's journey to restoring kindness to humanity.
