About

My name is Cord Chase Peterson, and I am in the final year of my Master’s program in Social Work. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a minor in Addiction Therapy, which has equipped me with a solid foundation for my graduate studies. With my MSW degree nearing completion, I am preparing to further my education by pursuing a Doctorate in Health and Human Services. This will enable me to deepen my understanding of healthcare systems and social services, particularly in rural settings where access to care is often limited.
My passion lies in addressing the unique challenges faced by vulnerable populations in rural areas, with a specific focus on HIV/AIDS care and leadership. I am committed to developing sustainable solutions that improve healthcare access and outcomes in underserved communities.

Goals and interests

Career goal

My career goal is to continue working in HIV/AIDS care, focusing strongly on leadership roles in rural communities. I am passionate about creating and managing programs that improve access to healthcare and support services for underserved populations. With my background in Social Work and a future Doctorate in Health and Human Services, I aim to lead initiatives that address the unique challenges faced by rural areas, ensuring that individuals affected by HIV/AIDS receive the care they need. Through advocacy, program development, and leadership, I strive to contribute to long-term, sustainable solutions that promote health equity and enhance the well-being of vulnerable communities.

Graduate school interests

I am interested in exploring the intersection of social work, healthcare access, and leadership within rural communities. Throughout my graduate studies, I have been mainly focused on how social services can address health disparities, especially for individuals affected by HIV/AIDS. I aim to expand my understanding of public health, policy development, and program management to design effective solutions that improve healthcare delivery in underserved areas. As I progress in my academic journey, I am excited to further explore innovative strategies that address the unique needs of rural populations and enhance the overall well-being of marginalized communities.
