About

I am a driven individual currently preparing to transition into the core Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program at Nightingale College, starting in January 2025. Having already completed all prerequisites, I am ready to focus exclusively on the core BSN coursework to achieve my goal of becoming a Registered Nurse (RN).

My academic foundation, paired with my professional experience, equips me with a unique perspective in providing holistic care. My background includes serving as a social worker in roles such as welfare-to-work programs, In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS), and Adult Protective Services (APS). These positions allowed me to advocate for vulnerable populations, develop problem-solving skills, and navigate complex systems—all qualities that will enhance my effectiveness as a nurse.

Balancing academic success, full-time work, and family life has taught me resilience, adaptability, and strong time management skills. My personal interests, including family engagement, outdoor activities, and lifelong learning, reflect my commitment to maintaining a balanced and fulfilling life.

Completing the core BSN program will be the final step toward achieving my career goal of becoming a Registered Nurse. I am passionate about integrating my skills and knowledge to provide compassionate, patient-centered care and make a meaningful difference in the lives of those I serve.

Intended Job Path

My intended job path is to transition into the healthcare field as a Registered Nurse (RN) with a focus on holistic, patient-centered care. Building on my background in Human Services and Social Work, I aim to work in clinical settings, such as hospitals or outpatient care facilities, where I can provide compassionate care to individuals and families.

In the short term, I plan to pursue nursing roles in healthcare systems like Kaiser Permanente, leveraging my skills in advocacy, communication, and case management to support patients’ medical and emotional needs. Long-term, my goal is to specialize in areas such as community health, geriatrics, or mental health nursing, where I can combine my experience in social work with my nursing expertise to address health disparities and improve overall well-being.

Ultimately, I aspire to grow within the healthcare profession, continuously advancing my skills through further education and leadership opportunities, while remaining dedicated to making a meaningful impact in the lives of those I serve.
