David Thayer

I’m a 26 year old Political Science/Pre-Law student at Middle Tennessee State University with one year to go until graduation. It took me a few years, after high school, to figure out what god’s plan for my life was. In 2010 I lost my job when the economy caused the company I was working for to initiate a lot of layoffs in the IT division where I was working. I turned lemons into lemonade and decided that that event was a sign to go back to school and fulfill my lifelong dream of becoming a lawyer. Ever since I was a little boy running around and playing “court” with my three younger sisters and having mock trials with our toys and stuffed animals, who were on trial for various offenses like stealing cookies- I knew a lawyer was what I supposed to be. I have always been inspired by the fight for justice. It’s been a long and difficult road, but I know that I am on the right path and enjoy feeling like my days are spent fulfilling a purpose. I know law school won’t come easy but it’s a goal I will complete and I am so excited focused on achieving this goal!
