About
My name is Brooke Hunnicutt, and I'm a high school senior. I will be studying Biomedical Engineering on a premed track in hopes of pursuing a career in the medical field.
Throughout high school, I've explored medical sciences by challenging myself with difficult classes, participating in enriching extracurriculars, and building deep relationships with people I've met along the way. For me, self-determination, service, and empathy are of high importance, and I practice these 3 skills daily.
From leading my high school's marching band to the state competition as captionhead to receiving the title of AP Scholar with Distinction, I always put 101% of my effort into anything I do. I believe there is power in being intentional with your actions, and I always put myself in positions to succeed. As my dad says, I "keep my doors open." In other words, I don't let myself miss opportunities because I didn't put in enough effort on the front end. As long as my doors are open, I have a choice. I don't know what my future looks like or what roads I will go down, but I do know one thing for sure: it will be my choice.
Although I'm proud of my accomplishments, they don't define who I am. That's not how people are going to remember me. People are going to remember how I made them feel. I want people to remember me as the person who made them feel seen. I want to give people hope. I don't care if they don't remember my name, I just want them to know that they are valued and they are meant to be on this earth. My one goal is to provide people with a purpose that can outlive any legacy.

- Outside the classroom
Outside of school, you will often find me hanging out with my family. I am the oldest of four, and the relationship that I have with each of my siblings is something I cherish. From staying up late watching movies to playing basketball on our driveway, they light up my world.
Additionally, I'm a Christian, so developing my relationship with Jesus is an important aspect of my life. I try to dedicate time throughout the week to grow my relationship with him, and I always end my sessions with uplifted spirits!
I also love spending time in the outdoors, specifically fishing! I started trout fishing when I was nine, and I fell in love with it. There's just something special about watching the sun go from a riverbank...especially if the fish are biting!
Music is also an important aspect of my life. During COVID, I taught myself how to play piano, and it's one of my favorite ways to wind down after a long day. I also enjoy singing, even though I'm not actively involved in a choir. It's just something that I do for me.
Other various hobbies of mine include diamond painting, baking, journaling, and working out.
