About
I am currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree Psychology program at Walden University. I have an Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education. Working with children for 15 years, I have seen where a degree in psychology would be beneficial and needed when working with children and families.

Goals and interests
- Career goal
I want to position myself to help children and families cope with these experiences and navigate the long-term emotional and psychological consequences they may face. Through my education in Psychology, I hope to develop the knowledge, skills, and compassion necessary to support those who are struggling and help them find healthy ways to process their experiences and move forward.
- Graduate school interests
I chose to pursue a degree in Psychology because of the current political climate and the direction of immigration policy. Regardless of political stance, children and families are being torn apart and experiencing profound physical and emotional trauma. Witnessing the impact these circumstances can have on individuals has strengthened my desire to understand the psychological effects of trauma, separation, and uncertainty. I am also interested in marriage counseling.
