1st Entry

I have never done a blog before, so consider this a new experience for you and I to embark on. 

To be quite honest, I am looking at this platform as a way to think out loud. I am the type of individual that comes up with their best ideas while talking out loud and hearing it. I do engage in a lot of false scenarios, scenarios in which are necessary for program development.

Where to begin? Well for beginners, I may as well start off by introducing myself, having that it is my first post and all. I, Erik O, or Oviedo as they call me, am a young Hispanic male that lives in San Antonio, Texas. I have been here for eight years, eight fruitful years. If you are not familiar with life in Texas, let me indulge you with things that are common place here in San Antonio. Everyone here is very friendly, one of the main reasons why i enjoy living in San Antonio. I remember coming here for the first time and being able to blend in well, having that I am from the hill country here in Texas. Waking up early to make sure horses are saddled and fitted for the day, San Antonians make sure they are always riding with the right equipment (what is a Texan, more specifically a San Antonian without his/her Spurs). We wake up as every other person I would imagine, but of course we prefer to travel by horse everywhere we go. Also, yes, yes we do have specific areas where we let our horses roam free during the work day. Its crazy how all the movies in todays day in age depict Texans with such accuracy, of course with the exception of modern buildings and such.

Hopefully you have visited Texas, otherwise I hope I haven't fooled you; San Antonio is nothing like I have described :) . We all travel by car, all sleep in apartments, houses, and not farms, and most importantly, we are not all cowboys (well maybe I am a little). We are your typical modern day city, a city that is heavily influenced by the Hispanic culture dating back to the discovery of these lands.

I enjoy San Antonio and would recommend anyone to visit this great city. Visit the Riverwalk, Alamo, Zoo, Gardens, etc., this is a great place to be. The only way i can describe it is like a small town within a city. Having lived here for as long as I have has been great and fruitful. I graduated from St. Mary's University with a Theology degree ( I was studying to be a religious) and now attaining my MPA from the University of Texas as San Antonio. Life is truly great. Even with the difficulties life throws in, one is truly blessed to have been developed in such a city.

I know that Im ranting about the city and for that i will go ahead and end that there.
