FORT VALLEY, GA -  HonorSociety.org and Fort Valley State University  in Fort Valley, GA recognize and celebrate the formation of the ALPHA TAU Fort Valley State University chapter officially formed on October 25, 2016. Active HonorSociety.org members joined together to discuss the mission of the honor society and the positive impact it will have on the university and its neighboring community.

The chapter became officially recognized after a ⅔ majority vote in the university Senate.  The chapter is led by chapter president, Jontravious Wallace, a junior and class of 2018, and joined by the board members and faculty advisor, Dr. George Mbata.

 

Wallace will be joined on the Executive Board of the Alpha Tau Chapter by Vice President Loreal Greer-Mapson.

 

"We appreciate the hard work the board has put in as HonorSociety.org members. I know they will bring great things to the organization and onto the Fort Valley State University campus," said Executive Director, Michael Moradian, "I'm extremely proud of their efforts so far."

 

With the installation of the new chapter at Fort Valley State University, the chapter is actively planning upcoming events this semester including community service activities and networking events on campus and within the local community.

 

Chapter president, Jontravious Wallace said, "Being a part of Honorsociety.org has been an exciting and fulfilling experience. It has been rewarding and I have gained so much knowledge. I have grown as a person and this is just the beginning of more to come.”
