A small introduction

Hi, my name is Chaia Wiley, I am a nursing major with the hopes of obtaining my BSN and specializing in pediatrics. I hope to work with young children who have or are suffering at the hands of abuse. I have three beautiful children that are my driving force in achieving my goals and setting a good example. I believe that education is of such great value, and I hope to pass the love for learning to my children. I attend Northshore Technical Community College in Livingston Parish; where I hope to finish the LPN program by next summer and transfer to a school offering the RN program. I plan to work after graduating the LPN program and while pursuing my education further; as I would like to work my way up giving me the chance to experience what other employees experience in their positions. I hope this will give me a better understanding of others in various positions of the healthcare field. I believe being a good leader comes with knowing the people who are leading. Understanding their goals and helping them to achieve their goals. I believe to be a good leader you must start at the bottom and learn your way to the top. This gives you the knowledge of where others are coming from and the experience to better advise and help them in achieving their goals. You must take the time to listen to those that seek your guidance. It means to encourage and support those around you; giving them the ability to see they can achieve their desires as long as they try. Being a leader doesn’t mean standing in front of others yelling commands; it means walking next to them giving them encouragement. If you wish to be respected you must give respect.
“ To walk in front I am no more, to walk behind I am no less, but to walk by your side I am an equal.”
