Spend Lailatul Qadr in Mecca and Madinah

Lailatul Qadr is the holiest night in Islam. It comes in last odd nights of Ramzan.  There is famous narration in Sahih Muslim in which Hazrat Ayesha (RA) and "Ibn Numair reported Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) as saying:"Look for Lailat-ul-Qadr in the last ten nights of Ramadan." [Sahih Muslim Book 13, Hadith 282].

He (PBUH) has also told us to, "I see that your dreams agree regarding the last ten (nights of Ramadan). So seek it on an odd number (of these ten nights)." Sahih Muslim Book 13, Hadith 269.

"Seek it (Lailat-ul-Qadr) in the last (ten nights). If one among you shows slackness and weakness (in the earlier part of Ramadan), it should not be allowed to prevail upon him in the last week.”  Sahih Muslim Book 13, Hadith 271.

Our fates are being decided in this specific night. Angels and Hazrat Jibrail (PBUH) descend from Heaven to Earth. Whole chapter of the Quran, Surah Qadr which is 97th in number highlights importance of this sacred night.

Translation of Chapter is as following

"Indeed, We sent the Qur'an down during the Night of Decree.

And what can make you know what the Night of Decree is?

The Night of Decree is better than a thousand months.

The angels and the Spirit descend therein by permission of their Lord for every matter.

Peace it is until the emergence of dawn."

Holiest Night in Islam

Get Sawab of Several Months Worship

You can do different types of worship. Reward of praying is much more than normal nights. Offer nawalfil, recite Holy Quran and Darood Ibrahimi. Sitting in I'tikhaf can also be done for this special evening. Everyone wants to earn more sawab of prayers.

Spend Time in I’tikaf

Sitting in I’tikaf is pious Sunnah of Holy Prophet (PBUH). Many of the people should spend time in the mosque for this holy night. You would also be following time in Sunnah.

Offer Tahajjud Prayer

Tahajjud is most essential prayers after obligatory ones. There are different verses of Holy Quran which emphasize significance of Tahajjud prayer. “And from [part of] the night, pray with it as additional [worship] for you; it is expected that your Lord will resurrect you to a praised station.” [Quran, 17: 79]

“And those who spend [part of] the night to their Lord prostrating and standing (in prayer)” [Quran, 25: 64]

Offer as many rakaat of Tahajjud as you can.
