Where am I from?

Where am I from?
I'm from the shadows of the sun shine. I'm from beyond the fog of life. I'm for a place yet to see a brighter day. I have yet to find my hope. I'm from a family who loves me but yet I don't feel free or loved. I came as a baby into this world but grow fast because of my surroundings. But that's Newark for you. I came from a city of poverty. I came from warm arms of love, but they are gone now. I'm left with a frown on my face and a guard held up high. I am from a lot of places. But none like home. I'm from the waterfalls flowing down my eyes, from a sadness that over comes me. I'm from pieces left broken. And I'm the one here unable to speak of why. My past is where I'm from and my future will be where I'll end up. I'm came from a place where its best not to speak but to take action. I'm from of place of shame and pain. I am from a place let to be unnamed and blamed for my out come.
But the better question to ask me isn't where I'm from but what have I done.
