Honor Society® Expert FAQ
What is the difference between a free Honor Society® account and Professional Track™?
A free Honor Society® account provides a starting point without dues. Professional Track™ is an optional paid upgrade with additional benefits that vary by the selected tier. Joining, receiving academic recognition, and qualifying for scholarships are separate matters; an upgrade does not establish academic rank or guarantee an award.
Compare current terminology and access
You may encounter older references to “Basic” and “Premium” in previous messages or pages. Current membership terminology uses “free account” and “Professional Track.” When reviewing an existing subscription, use the terms and access shown in your account and ask Member Services about any unclear label.
The current paid options are Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Signature Edition, billed every six months with automatic renewal until canceled. Compare the current inclusions and price for the option you are considering. A free account does not require an upgrade to apply for Honor Society scholarships, subject to the award’s requirements.
Put the answer into practice
- Start with the specific benefit you want to use.
- Check whether it is available with a free account or requires a tier.
- Review recurring cost, renewal timing, and cancellation terms.
- Keep academic recognition and scholarship criteria separate from the payment choice.
If the additional benefits do not fit your plans, you can keep a free account. If you already have a subscription, use account management or Member Services to understand changes rather than assuming a terminology update has changed your purchase terms.
