Honor Society® Expert FAQ
How can students use ChatGPT to study?
Use ChatGPT to study by asking for practice questions, hints, and feedback on your own explanations, where course rules permit. Keep the learning objective and reliable course material in view.
Make the conversation require your participation
Try: “Ask one question about these permitted notes, wait for my answer, and explain any mistake using the notes. Say when the notes do not establish an answer.” This is a request for a study process, not a guarantee that the assistant will follow it perfectly. Check questions and answer keys before relying on them.
After the session, attempt an unfamiliar example without the chat. If you can repeat a generated explanation but cannot use the concept, return to the underlying reasoning. Honor Society’s ChatGPT study guide offers a repeatable routine for this kind of active practice.
Your next steps
- Check course permission and choose a learning objective.
- Ask for one question or hint at a time.
- Verify feedback and test yourself without the conversation.
