Honor Society® Expert FAQ
How do you find an on-campus job?
Find on-campus jobs through your college’s student-employment office, official job platform, departments, libraries, dining operations, and other campus units. Check eligibility and scheduling requirements before applying.
Check student employment routes and eligibility rules
Some roles are open to a broad student applicant pool; others require Federal Work-Study eligibility or particular skills. A work-study award is not automatically a job, and the hiring process may still require an application and interview. Ask which funding category the position uses and whether it fits your situation.
Compare pay, weekly hours, location, training, and exam-period flexibility. Campus proximity can reduce travel time, but a role still needs to fit your academic obligations. Confirm any institutional limits on student work hours and get the agreed schedule in writing.
Your next steps
- Use official campus listings and ask departments about openings.
- Check work-study or other eligibility requirements.
- Compare hours and responsibilities with your class and study schedule.
