Honor Society® Expert FAQ

How do you send transcripts to a new college?

Send transcripts through the issuing school’s authorized ordering process using the receiving college’s instructions. An official transcript usually must arrive through an approved electronic service or another accepted delivery method.

Use the receiving college’s required delivery route

Check which institutions must send records, including colleges where you completed dual-enrollment or summer coursework. An unofficial copy may be acceptable for an initial review but not final enrollment. Confirm the destination office, applicant identifier, delivery address, and whether the school requires a final transcript after current courses end. A forwarded download may not retain official status.

Order early enough for processing and monitor the receiving college’s application checklist. If a record is delayed or unavailable, contact the registrar and admissions office for the appropriate next step. Do not assume one college transcript replaces records from earlier institutions. Keep the order receipt and use the credit-evaluation questions in Honor Society’s honors-transfer guide once the new school processes your coursework.

Your next steps

  • Check every required transcript and accepted delivery method.
  • Enter the destination and applicant details carefully.
  • Confirm receipt and send final grades when requested.
