Honor Society® Expert FAQ
What are the risks of using AI for school?
Using AI for school can introduce inaccurate information, invented sources, privacy problems, academic-integrity violations, and dependence on assistance. The risk depends on the task, the system, and how you check the result.
Consider what can go wrong before choosing the workflow
A summary may omit an important qualification; a convincing citation may refer to no real publication. Uploading class records or someone else’s work may also breach rules or expose information. Read the assignment policy and use only material you are permitted to share.
Reduce risk by keeping original sources available, asking for limited assistance, and checking consequential claims yourself. Do not treat a paid account, a confident tone, or agreement between two chatbots as proof of accuracy. If you cannot evaluate the result, bring the question to an instructor, librarian, or qualified adviser.
Your next steps
- Check permission and information-sharing rules first.
- Verify claims and sources before using the output.
- Test what you can explain or complete without assistance.
