Battle Born Scholarship requirements
Bring your achievements into focus. Use specific examples to connect your studies, contributions, and future goals.
Who can apply?
- Nevada-based students. Applications are open to all students based in Nevada.
- Students whose academic achievement and broader contributions demonstrate ambition, leadership, service, or involvement.
- Applicants should be comfortable providing a video and/or written testimonial about their program and the scholarship.
Selection considers your academic record alongside the ways you contribute beyond the classroom.
Prepare these three items
- Program & achievements summary. Describe your current academic program and achievements to date, including academic, professional, personal, honors, and awards.
- A response of up to 500 words. Explain the relevance of your studies to your life and/or goals.
- Your current GPA & transcript. An unofficial transcript is accepted when applying. The recipient must submit an official transcript before scholarship disbursement.
How to apply

Sign in before you start
Open the Battle Born application and log in or register before entering answers. Registration is free; premium membership is not required. Signing in after completing the form can cause your answers to be lost.

Tell your story
Keep a separate draft of your written responses. Gather your GPA and transcript, and check that your profile and application details accurately reflect your achievements.

Review & submit
Check the prompts, word limit, school, contact details, and uploaded transcript. Submit through the application form by the displayed deadline and keep a copy of your materials.
Selection & announcement timeline
Rolling monthly deadlines on the 28th. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. Prepare early so you can submit a complete, thoughtful application.
How applications are evaluated
The scholarship committee uses a rubric to evaluate academic achievement—including GPA, honors, and awards—and holistic factors such as leadership positions and community service.
If applicants are tied, the winner is selected at random from the tied applicants. Meeting the requirements does not guarantee selection.
When recipients hear back
- Within 3 weeks of selection: selected recipients can first expect to hear from Honor Society.
- Within 6 weeks: recipients are publicly announced on the website, in the monthly newsletter, and through social media.
- Up to 3 months after submission: your application remains under consideration. You may submit an updated application after 3 or more months.

How much is the Battle Born Scholarship?
Honor Society® offers the $2,000 Battle Born Scholarship for Nevada-based students. The award is administered independently by Honor Society and its designated scholarship review committee.

Do I need to pay or be a member to apply?

Yes. Include your current GPA and an unofficial copy of your current transcript when applying. If selected, you must provide an official transcript before scholarship disbursement.
Is there a minimum GPA requirement?
The published Battle Born requirements do not specify a minimum GPA. Your current GPA and transcript are required, and academic achievement is considered alongside leadership, service, and other holistic factors.
Can I submit an updated application?
Yes. You may submit an updated application after 3 or more months from your initial submission. Contact the Honor Society Help Center if you need clarification about eligibility or your application.

Award Terms:
Scholarship amounts, deadlines, criteria, and selection timelines are subject to change without prior notice. Awards are non-transferable, have no cash equivalent, and may not be substituted except at the sole discretion of Honor Society®. Honor Society® reserves the right to modify, suspend, or cancel scholarship programs at any time.
Announcement & Use of Recipient Information:
By accepting an award, recipients consent to Honor Society® publicly announcing their names, schools, likenesses, and general award information for transparency and promotional purposes. Personal data collected during the application process will be used solely for administering the scholarship and in accordance with Honor Society®’s Privacy Policy.
Odds of Selection:
Odds of winning depend on the total number of eligible applications received and the comparative strength of the applications. No minimum or maximum number of awards is guaranteed.

Honor Society® is an independent, privately operated organization and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any college, university, or government entity. Institutional acknowledgment or credit of Honor Society® scholarships is at the discretion of each educational institution.
