Strength Through Perseverance
Senior year is here, what an amazing journey of perseverance. Reflecting on my shy personality that entered Pre-Kindergarten terrified of Teachers, students and leaving my parents, spending a full day away from them. Terrified of speaking my primary language of Spanish to others, thinking to myself, what if they speak to me in English? Well, I made it! I not only made it through Pre-Kindergarten. I persevered through every school year meeting so many exploratory teachers, coaches, school administrators, bus drivers and especially students.
This journey has not been easy, however, I have been strengthened every step of the way by my parents and grandparents. Spiritually, the ability to persevere through each season of illness, anxiety in school because of discrimination and bullying, the difficult years we all experienced the horrific COVID PLAGUE. Yet, I persevered and have been strengthened, mentally, physically and spiritually. My favorite scripture and motto is; “I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me.” (Philippians 4:13).
The finale of the first book of school is now off and running. The time is now to gird up and make all the three point shots I can make not only on the basketball court in my senior season as a basketball player but in my school work, spiritual life and finally my home life.
When this Highschool journey ends, I am so excited and grateful to look forward to a new chapter as I begin my college journey with strength, resilience and perseverance.
