Hello, my name is Nicolas Alixander Lopez! Ever since I moved to Arizona from California I have been involved in sports. My mother has made sure to make sure that I always kept busy while she was working late, for the simple reason that being involved in sports helps me make friends easier. So, starting from when I was in second grade at Riverdale Elementary School (which now closed down), I was on their kickball team. When I moved to Arizona, I became involved in the NYS League and played for the Pee - Wee Program due to my age of being eight years old. The best part about being involved in such a program, was that my step father was an assistant coach. This transferred over to me being an excellent student because I knew how to keep an early schedule, follow a routine and follow rules. Eventually as I grew older, I played three sports all through junior high and high school to maintain a tight schedule and regard for routine and rules. The cherry on top of participating in sports my whole junior high and high school career was the fact that I ran for President my freshman year of high school and was part of the leadership club my senior year. This was a big deal for me because of the school I attended. The fact that Stapley Junior High feeds into Mountain View High School and I went to Mesa High School from Stapley meant a complete change in my life. I had to make new friends as a complete stranger. But like I said, because my mother made sure I was able to make friends easier, she kept me involved in sports. The school has three seasons of sports from a variety you may choose from, and in my case, I chose Football to start off the season, fortunately Football practice starts in the summer to get familiar with the kids you will going to school with. So, when August came around, I made sure to take the extra step in getting to know everybody (especially at a new school where I didn't know anybody and nobody knew me) to run for President. Although I did not get voted for president and I did get some weird looks, it helped me come out of my comfort zone and be more sociable off the field. Furthermore, after football season, I favored wrestling that started in November. I had the pleasure of being coached by one of the most decorated junior high and high school wrestling coaches in Arizona, Dana Dobson and Robert Williams. They sparked the quality in me to be a better person. I helped my junior high go 3rd in the city my 9th grade year by going one in the city and being ranked number one overall. Finally, I always ended with Track and Field to stay in shape for the summer, I was always about long distance running for my health!

I want to start off how this essay topic ended, how receiving scholarships would help me attain what I want in my career goal of completing my student career successfully and educational goal of receiving a bachelor's degree in business management with a certificate in international business. My only goal in life is to be a better version of myself every day. I owe it to my mom and dad for making those strides for me in leading me into an everyday future of changing the world for the better and bettering the lives around me. Specifically, with the financial aid in these scholarships will give me, I will be able to lead a happy and successful life to finish my college career. Being happy means the world to me in today's pandemic, I have always taken business serious and the help of these scholarships reminds me of the people who created them, probably wanted the same thing, to lead a happy and successful life. Our current president has a business background and has received a lot of criticism from his own country, I admire what he has does for our country and the fact that people who created these scholarships are still funding people like me who admire business, proves to me that people still care about the future of business in America, business majors and the future in general. To be more specific, at the age of being 27 years, seeing business around me close and friends and family members lose jobs due to this pandemic, reminds me that history repeats itself and there is hope for this new world order, all we have to do as a people is unite and adapts. Although every generation has their own way of coping with and absorbing this new way of living, America has proven that anything is possible when it comes to successing in a not so successful time. Like a wise man once told me, there is always hope.
