Robert Brehon: A short autobiography

Hello all!
I'm majoring in a B.S. Biochemistry, I'm a former federal employee, certified lab professional, and veteran. This is a longer version of who I am, and where I'm going.
Hello, I'm Robert Brehon. I was born on September 24th, 1992 Robert Micheal McBroom to my loving parents, Julia McBroom and Tracey McBroom. I come from a military tradition, and I have served as well. I graduated Seventy First High School in 2011 in Fayetteville, North Carolina. I married and joined the Army in July of 2012. I went through 3 months of training at Fort Sill, OK; 6 months at Fort Sam Houston, TX; and 6 months at Ft. Belvoir, VA as a 68K Medical Laboratory Specialist. My first and final duty station was Fort Riley, KS, to which I exited the Army in 2017. I have deployed to Kuwait in support of our armed forces. Shortly after I exited the military, I was widowed from my estranged wife, whom I had separated from four years prior. I joined the Federal Service in 2017 and continued to work as a Medical Laboratory Technician, certified by the ASCP. In 2019 I remarried, and have a wonderful partner in my wife Rose Brehon, who is a pharmacy student with a B.A. in Biochemistry.
I have a deep personal belief that there are certain people who do not understand the value of the labor they put on others. As a laboratory professional, and as a soldier, I've seen numerous instances where leadership does not take the time to study their options, or take the time to know their personnel. I've entered college in order to gain the power I need to sit at the table with the big boys and girls and actually fix some of the issues facing the medical industry, such as inappropriate testing, absurd hospital billing, ill informed physicians, and hostile work cultures. I want to make the lives of every patient whose life I will have an impact on to have a more positive outcome than if some other, less passionate or cunning individual were sitting in my chair.
I look forward to being with the Honor Society, and hope to meet people who also believe in medicofiscal progress.
