Honor Society® Expert FAQ

How do you complete the FAFSA?

Complete the FAFSA for the correct award year using your own StudentAid.gov account, accurate financial information, and the required contributor sections. The application is free.

What to know before you act

Gather the records requested for that form, identify the correct parent or spouse contributor when applicable, and follow the consent and approval instructions for federal tax information. Contributors use their own accounts; do not share passwords. Add the colleges that should receive your information.

After signing and submitting, review your FAFSA Submission Summary and the college’s portal for errors or missing documents. Honor Society’s FAFSA guide provides a preparation checklist that helps turn the process into manageable steps rather than a last-minute form-filling session.

Your next steps

  • Confirm the form’s award year and contributor requirements.
  • Answer from records and use the form’s help text when uncertain.
  • Save confirmation and check the processed summary.
