About

I am Wallace Giora Chayim Andrews, a United States Army combat veteran, educator, martial arts instructor, parent-caregiver, and advocate committed to advancing the educational and psychological well-being of children and families. My academic and professional development is grounded in psychology, education, addiction studies, autism advocacy, and the belief that every child deserves to be educated with dignity rather than marginalized because of neurological, behavioral, or developmental differences.

My academic pathway begins with psychology and will continue through graduate and doctoral study, with an intended specialization in addiction psychology. This advanced training will enable me to examine substance-use disorders through developmental, psychological, familial, cultural, and trauma-informed perspectives. My long-term objective is to contribute to prevention, assessment, intervention, recovery education, and advocacy—particularly for veterans, underserved families, and communities that have historically experienced limited access to competent and culturally responsive care.

Alongside this psychological pathway, I intend to earn a Master of Education with a concentration in Autism Spectrum Disorder. This interdisciplinary combination will strengthen my ability to connect psychological science with evidence-based teaching, individualized educational planning, family-centered intervention, and neurodiversity-affirming practices. My purpose is not simply to acquire academic credentials, but to transform scholarship into practical systems of care, instruction, and advocacy.

This mission is already being demonstrated through the advocacy my wife and I provide for our children and through the continuing development of Vida Montessori Academy. Vida Montessori represents a private, family-centered educational vision designed to support children with autism and other individualized learning needs within a structured, compassionate, and developmentally responsive Montessori environment. Our work recognizes parents as essential educational partners whose lived knowledge of their children must be respected alongside professional research and clinical expertise.

My family’s experiences have shown me how easily children who learn, communicate, or regulate differently can become misunderstood, excluded, or treated as problems within conventional systems. Rather than accepting educational marginalization, we have chosen to develop an environment in which our children’s abilities, identities, communication styles, and developmental needs can be understood and cultivated.

My utmost desire is to pay this knowledge and experience forward. My goal is to assist other families who choose to educate outside traditional systems because they do not want their children stigmatized, isolated, or outcasted. Through Vida Montessori Academy, psychological scholarship, advanced educational training, and community advocacy, I intend to help families create lawful, academically sound, culturally responsive, and emotionally safe educational alternatives. My career path is therefore more than a personal pursuit: it is a commitment to building pathways through which children and families can experience dignity, belonging, empowerment, and meaningful educational success.

Goals and interests

Career goal

My professional career path is directed toward serving within Indian Health Services or the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, where I can integrate my education in psychology, addiction studies, autism-focused education, military experience, and commitment to culturally responsive advocacy. As a United States Army combat veteran and Director of Education for Vida Montessori Academy, a private home-education program, I possess lived and professional insight into the needs of veterans, neurodivergent children, caregivers, and families navigating complex institutional systems. My objective is to work in behavioral health, addiction recovery, family support, educational programming, or community-based advocacy while continuing to develop Vida Montessori as an individualized and compassionate learning environment. Through these interconnected roles, I intend to advance trauma-informed care, educational equity, family empowerment, and accessible support for Indigenous communities, veterans, and children with autism spectrum disorder.
