The Blogger Scholarship from Honor Society® supports aspiring bloggers and journalists who consistently contribute education-related work to platforms outside Honor Society.
Blogger Scholarship requirements
Build a portfolio with purpose. This award recognizes sustained writing, relevant ideas, and the connection between your work and your future goals.
Who can apply?
- Open to all applicants who meet the published requirements.
- Submit articles consistently to a source or platform outside Honor Society for a full semester.
- Cover education, high school, college, higher education, student advice, or relevant changes affecting students, such as online learning.
Your application checklist
- A record of consistent submissions. Keep evidence of your work across a full semester on an external platform.
- A response of up to 500 words. Explain the relevance of writing to your major, life, or goals.
- Publication confirmation before disbursement. Confirm consistent submissions and at least one successfully published education-related submission. Evidence may include blogs, videos, or similar work.
The current application also asks for an academic and achievements summary, GPA, school and contact details, and a transcript. An unofficial transcript is accepted to apply; an official transcript is requested before disbursement.
Make your portfolio easy to review
Organize the titles, dates, platform names, and links for your submissions. Distinguish submitted work from published work, and explain what you learned from writing consistently. Keep a copy of your records for the pre-disbursement review.
How to apply

Sign in before you start
Open the Blogger application and sign in or register before entering answers. Signing in after completing the form can cause your answers to be lost.

Prepare your materials
Prepare your 500-word response and a dated record of outside submissions. Have your academic summary, GPA, transcript, and contact information ready for the current form. Keep a separate copy of your work.

Review & submit
Check your responses, contact details, and attachments. Submit through the application form by the displayed deadline and keep a copy of your materials.
Selection & announcement timeline
Rolling monthly deadlines on the 21st. Prepare early so you can submit a complete, thoughtful application.
How applications are evaluated
Applications are scored with a rubric based on relevance and writing consistency. If applicants are tied, the winner is selected at random from the tied applicants. Meeting the requirements does not guarantee selection.
When recipients hear back
- Within 3 weeks of selection: selected recipients can first expect to hear from Honor Society.
- Within 6 weeks: recipients are publicly announced on the website, in the monthly newsletter, and through social media.
- Up to 3 months after submission: your application remains under consideration. You may submit an updated application after 3 or more months.

Do I need to pay or be a member to apply?
No. Applicants do not need to be Honor Society members, and no purchase or membership payment is required to apply or win. The application asks you to sign in or register before entering answers; registration is free.

By accepting an award, recipients consent to Honor Society® publicly announcing their names, schools, likenesses, and general award information for transparency and promotional purposes. Personal data collected during the application process will be used solely for administering the scholarship and in accordance with Honor Society®’s Privacy Policy.

Odds of winning depend on the total number of eligible applications received and the comparative strength of the applications. No minimum or maximum number of awards is guaranteed.
