White House Fellowship

White House Fellows spend a year working as full-time, paid special assistants to senior White House Staff, the Vice President, Cabinet Secretaries and other top-ranking government officials. Applicants must be U.S. citizens, and should be finished with their undergraduate education and working in their chosen professions. Employees of the federal government are not eligible unless they are career military personnel. Prospective candidates will have a record of remarkable professional achievement early in one's career, evidence of leadership skills and the potential for further growth, a demonstrated commitment to public service, and the knowledge and skills necessary to contribute successfully at the highest levels of the federal government. All national finalists are required to undergo comprehensive background investigations to ensure that they qualify for the security clearance necessary for their fellowship work assignments. Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars (The Wilson Center) Fellowship

The Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars awards approximately 20-25 residential fellowships annually to individuals with outstanding project proposals in a broad range of the social sciences and humanities on national and/or international issues. Topics and scholarship should relate to key public policy challenges or provide the historical and/or cultural framework to illuminate policy issues of contemporary importance. Fellows must be U.S citizens, must hold a PhD at the time of receiving the award, and must have publications other than their dissertation. Fellows are eligible to receive stipends which are used for international travel and for the fellows everyday expenses. Fellows may also elect to have health insurance.
