Students Find Good Health Through Chiropractic Care

Jul 11,2015

I recently met with Dr. Kurt Pepperell of Pepperell Chiropractic to hear what he had to say about chiropractic care, but more specifically, what he had to say about its benefit for students. The video below shows you what his interview was like and lets you see more about him personally as a doctor of chiropractic.

Dr. Kurt has been adjusting patients for 11 years now and is also a certified acupuncturist, with an in-house massage therapist in his office. In the video below, you can see how he uses all three methods of treatment to help his patients, along with essential oils and natural products.

The biggest takeaway from my interview with Dr. Kurt is the fact that you don’t have to be in pain to see a chiropractor. You can have a subluxation, or have a vertebrae out of alignment without even knowing it. The benefit to having your spine properly aligned is that when everything is where it’s supposed to be, neurons and messages to your whole body can be sent seamlessly, and everything works and flows at the optimum level.

Many people, most who have never been adjusted before, are afraid that an adjustment will hurt. Have you ever subconsciously cracked your neck? Maybe twisted your upper body to pop your back? It feels good doesn’t it? that’s why you do it. Getting adjusted by a chiropractor is like a luxury “back cracking” where you don’t even have to put any effort in!

Dr. Kurt’s practice is very family-oriented, and one of his main ideas is the concept of releasing the doctor from within. The body heals itself, and by aligning yourself properly, you equip your spine, body, and mind to do exactly that. This fact alone helps his argument that students are one of many age groups that can truly benefit from chiropractic.

As students, we are more than likely very stressed and overwhelmed, which can clearly cause tension and muscle tightness, and the most familiar symptom: headaches. A chiropractic adjustment, paired with massage therapy, essential oils, and overall wellness care can be a huge help in being the best student possible. If our bodies are working at their best state, our minds can work just as hard.

Many offices also offer a student discount, so if you don’t have health insurance (or even if you do) you can still get chiropractic care at the perfect cost.

Chiropractic care is a very misunderstood method of health care, mostly because every other way is about masking the pain rather than curing the cause of the pain. With chiropractic care you can achieve wellness care from the start, so you don’t ever have to be in pain.

It isn’t an overnight fix, but neither is popping an aspirin if you think about it. As a student who has experienced chiropractic care firsthand, I would highly recommend finding not only a chiropractor, but the right chiropractor for you. Don’t let one bad experience, or even worse, someone ELSE’s bad experience cloud your views on chiropractors. If you’re looking to become  a healthier student and gain overall wellness, look for a chiropractor in your area and stop in.
