About
I am a freshman at the University of Kentucky. I am originally from South Africa and arrived in the United States at the end of 2013. I completed my junior year of High school in New York and my senior year in Connecticut. My strength and interest has always been in science and I went to college at the University of Kentucky with the intention of pursuing a career in forensic science. After hearing a string of presentations from different professors at UK I heard and saw something that made me really excited about science - more specifically the veterinary side - and I immediately knew what I wanted to do after my studies. I am an equestrian who has always had an interest in African Horse Sickness after my experience with it in South Africa which is why the idea of being able to work with equine immune disease is incredibly fascinating and exciting to me. I am currently majoring in Chemistry and considering a minor in animal science.
