About
My name is Afifa Islam, and I am a high school senior born and raised in Texas. I have had the great opportunity to contribute to several organizations while attending Harmony Science Academy Beaumont. I have the privilege of currently serving as the President of HOSA (Health Occupations Students of America), the President of our National Honors Society, and the vice president of the Student Council. My hobbies include baking, painting, and sewing. In fact, I'm known in my neighborhood for my banana bread! I always had an interest in science but still dabbled in other fields, such as art or humanities. However, I was drawn back to medicine as I especially appreciated the science and humanity that medicine provides to its patients. I also had the honor of volunteering for over 70 hours at my local hospital, after which I decided to pursue a career in medicine as a physician. I hope to give back to my community and city as an advocate for my patients!
A few of my Academic Metrics:
Current Weighted High School GPA: 4.36/4.00.
PSAT/NMSQT: 1520/1520.
SAT: 1560/1600.
