Ahmad Minnis
Team member at I started working at Shake Shack in June of 2020. I wanted to work there is because I wanted another job in the face of this pandemic and wanted to serve people doing this troubling time. At Shake Shack I would be on the grill, cook fries, greet people, take orders, and clean dishes. It was a fun job and was very generous with payment in the midst of a pandemic and I am thankful that I was able to have the job at such a young age. I left Shake Shack in October because I wanted to focus on my new school after my old one got shut down, due to the pandemic, and focus on my studies, with it being my senior year. I also was frustrated with that stigma, that teenagers can only apprehend jobs in the food industry and I don't particularly like the food industry.

About
My name is Ahmad Minnis. I am a kid who likes to study, read, exercise, listen to music, and help people. I try my best to succeed in everything I do. I try to help people the best I can, rather it is classmates or just regular people I don't know> Two months ago I did a community service project with my school where we worked with the urban league cleaning up the community. I also try to help wherever I'm needed. My academics have always been apart of me, but they really just started to be the focus of my time. My favorite subject is history. I like learning, It attracts me. One of the reasons I like reading is because of learning, it gives my mind mental stimulation and lets me dive off into other things and topics, being just with myself. My grades have not always been good because I've not always been that focused on them and had some maturing to do. I went to private school all my life, so that is one of the reasons I study and have a gargantuan amount of thirst for knowledge and Intellect.

Goals and interests
- Career goal
I want to be an actor, entrepreneur, and business owner, working in shows, movies, and then possibly writing and directing them. I also want to be a model. I plan on achieving all these things by investing in myself, sharpening my skills, and devoting myself to them so that I can be the best I can be. Finally, I want to establish something that's going to give back to my community and educate them on the necessary things in life like Finance, Real- Estate, food, law, and many other things.
- Graduate school interests
For Graduate School, I want to attend Howard University or Moorehouse College. I want to go to these schools and sharpen my skills while finding myself and learning about things. I want to study the theatrical arts even more in-depth at these schools
- Outside the classroom
In my spare time, I tend to read, listen to music, and many other things. I watch a lot of movies and study actors because that is what I want to do, become a great actor. The books I read are more about the African American experience and different neighborhoods. I've read Begin again, The New Jim Crow, Black v Blue, let's end the conflict between minorities and cops, Race for Profit, Nothing to Lose, Everything to gain: Being Black and Conservative in America, The New World Order, and many more. I am currently still reading. I also like politics and history, this is why most of my books are centered around justice, social justice, law, and history. I like watching Cnn, Fox, MSNBC, and local news. My music is a motley of genres, I like old school, R&B, Rap, and Pop. These are just a couple of things I like to do.

dishwasher/busser
I started working at The Old Spaghetti Factory in January 2020, of my junior year. There I would wash dishes and oversee that things were going right in the kitchen. In the beginning, I was a dishwasher but then I experienced the many dynamics to it and wanted to do something else. I then became a busser at the restaurant and this included bussing tables, cleaning them, and resetting them. I would eventually depart from The Old Spaghetti Factory in March because of the coronavirus. The Old Spaghetti Factory taught me about the food and restaurant industry and how to maintain a job while in school, It was also my introduction to the food industry.

Better Family Life Inc. There I would tend to small kids and help them with anything they needed and watch over them. We would go to feild-trips, swimming and many other things. It was a really fun first job and it taught me a lot about maintaining a job, working with people, and having a good impact on people. I also got to be with kids my age in the youth leadership academy and go on trips with them to and participate with them too on college tours, historical sites, and many other things.
