About

I am 18 years old, and my name is Aicha Sidick. I consider myself an ambitious senior at Roberto Clemente High School in Chicago. Passionate about the world of fashion, I express my talent through boundless creativity and my own unique style. My dedication and artistic flair have earned me a place at the prestigious School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC). This admission marks a crucial step in my future career in the design and garment industry. Ready to graduate, I am preparing to transform my passion into rigorous professional expertise. This is the beginning of a promising adventure where my imagination can fully flourish in the capital of art.

Goals and interests

Career goal

The career path I envision lies within the field of fashion design; I would like to focus on the creative and technical dimensions of the industry—specifically as a fashion or textile designer. I am drawn to the process of conceptualizing collections, researching trends, and translating sketches into tangible garments through the meticulous selection of fabrics and the supervision of construction. Rather than pursuing commercial or marketing avenues, I wish to immerse myself in the studio environment—sketching, draping, and refining prototypes—to ensure that the final product aligns perfectly with the initial creative vision. Ultimately, I aspire to join a creative team where I can blend artistic expression with functional garment design, contributing innovative ideas from the initial concept phase through to the runway or market launch.

Graduate school interests

My interests in graduate studies focus on fashion and textile innovation, with a particular emphasis on sustainable practices. I wish to deepen my technical skills while exploring experimental materials and ethical production methods. This path would enable me to develop a distinctive creative identity and prepare myself for leadership roles in shaping a more responsible and innovative future for fashion.
