About

Ailani Martin is an artist and designer whose work celebrates resilience, identity, and community. After losing her father at a young age, she turned to art as a lifeline, creating portraits of Black women that honor individuality and self-acceptance. She works in pencil, paint, and mixed media, often using blue for protection and green for growth. Beyond fine art, she freelances in graphic design, supporting nonprofits through visual storytelling. Soon to attend the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Ailani aims to develop a distinct style, publish impactful work, and teach others to use art as a voice for truth and connection.
