About
My name is Alana Ash, and I was born at the Hurley Hospital on October 1st 1996, in Flint. Currently I am living in Grand Blanc with my grandparents, two younger sisters, and father. At first when I am in a new setting or surrounded by different people, I can be very shy and reserved. Although, I love participating and over time I slowly open up more. I am like a book with a plain cover, once someone decides to pick up the book and read it, despite the boring cover, there is an amazing story inside. My family is the most important to me. Unlike most teenagers, I enjoy spending every moment with my family. We often have family game nights, including playing trivia and board games together. Also my sisters and I play video games and watch movies for hours, which is great sister bonding time. I am very proud of being the oldest sister, it makes me have to think extra hard on everything I do because I know my sisters will soon follow most everything I do. I couldn’t imagine a life without my family.
The sciences would have to be my all-time favorite subjects to study, especially psychology, biology, sociology and medicine. I attended the Genesee Career Institute's Medical Career Foundations program. This allowed me to explore many different fields of medicine. This class helped me realize that medicine was not a field fit for me.
I am currently in my freshman year at the University of Michigan-Flint. I plan to graduate with an bachelor's degree of education. I want to become an elementary school teacher. I especially wish to become a kindergarten teacher.
