Goals and interests

Career goal

My intended career path focuses on cloud computing, progressing from hands-on technical roles to a higher-level architectural position. I aim to gain experience in one or more of the following interconnected roles:

-Software Developer (Cloud Focus): Building and deploying applications specifically designed for cloud environments, utilizing cloud-native services and principles. This involves coding, testing, and maintaining cloud-based software.

-Cloud Engineer: Managing and maintaining cloud infrastructure and services. This includes tasks like provisioning resources, automating deployments, monitoring performance, and ensuring security.

-Cloud Network Engineer: Specializing in the design, implementation, and management of cloud-based networks. This involves configuring virtual networks, firewalls, load balancers, and other networking components within a cloud environment.

-Cloud Architect: The ultimate goal, involving designing and overseeing the overall cloud strategy and architecture for an organization. This requires a deep understanding of cloud technologies, business requirements, and best practices to create scalable, reliable, and cost-effective cloud solutions.

Graduate school interests

WGU and UMGC are viable options for cloud computing education, but "detailed" is subjective. Research other universities with strong cloud computing programs, such as Georgia Tech, University of Illinois, and others. Compare their curricula, hands-on components, faculty, and learning formats to determine the best fit for your specific needs and career aspirations. Don't hesitate to contact the admissions departments of these universities to discuss your goals and ask specific questions about their programs.
