About
I am a graduate student with a strong background in molecular biology and clinical laboratory science, preparing for a career in medicine. My academic path has been shaped by an interest in understanding disease at a biological level and seeing how that knowledge is used in real clinical settings. I am currently completing a Professional Science Master’s in Biotechnology, where my coursework has focused on genome editing, pathophysiology, molecular biology, and the ethical responsibilities that come with biomedical work.
I earned a Bachelor of Science in Molecular Genetic Technology from The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center and a Bachelor of Science in Cellular and Molecular Biology from The University of Texas at Austin. Alongside my education, I work as a medical laboratory scientist in hematopathology at MD Anderson. In this role, I perform high-volume DNA and RNA extractions, review and improve laboratory procedures, and support molecular testing that directly informs patient care. Being part of this process has shown me how much accuracy and accountability matter when patients are waiting on results.
I also have research experience in protein purification and gene regulation, which taught me how to think critically, work through setbacks, and evaluate data honestly. Together, my training and experiences reflect a steady commitment to medicine, scientific responsibility, and meaningful patient impact.
