Albina Kape

I am currently a student at Triton College, in River Grove, Illinois. I am from Albania, Europe. I came here in May 2016. It was so hard in the beginning, since it is a different culture here, different mentality, and being away from my family makes it even harder. However, I am trying to get the best out of it. Actually I am living with my cousins. I grew up having a strong desire to help the others. I always used to help my classmates whenever we had a test or homework to do. Apart from that, I have also helped my parents a lot around the house, or by taking care of my siblings, since they are younger than me. I am a caring and hardworking person. When I was young, around 14-15 years old, my grandfather had stroke and he became paralyzed. He could barely move his hands and feet. He was in bed or in the couch all the time. Whenever he needed something, or when relatives came to visit him, he wanted to get up and he was calling me "Hey, my ballerina, come and help me". I felt so happy that I was helping him. This made me understand that being a nurse would be the job that would perfectly fit me, because I feel so happy and relieved when I help the others. That is why I am studying nursing. I want to be a Registered Nurse. Back home, I have attended different school clubs, I have taken part in different competitions such as Math Olympiad, History and English competition. As for now, I am a member of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society as well.
There are a lot of opportunities here in the USA if you study hard. I hope to help as many people as I can in the future and make a difference in any way that I can.
