Alejandro Bermudez

I am a recent graduate of Northeast High School, having achieved Cum Laude honors in May 2023. My educational journey has been marked by a strong foundation in science, mathematics, and language, including Spanish. In addition to my coursework, I have gained valuable experience through internships and employment, which have contributed to my personal and professional growth.

During my time in high school, I participated in various extracurricular activities, including the Track and Field team, Spanish Honor Society, and Chess Club. These experiences not only enriched my high school life but also helped me develop teamwork and leadership skills.

One of the highlights of my academic journey was my participation in the Executive Internship Program with Pinellas County Schools and St. Petersburg College. I had the privilege of interning at Largo Fire Stations 38 and 39 during the fall and spring semesters of 2022-2023. These internships allowed me to actively engage in emergency response activities, including attending calls and assisting with medical backpacks. My bilingual proficiency in Spanish also played a crucial role in translating for Spanish-speaking individuals during these emergency situations.

In terms of employment, I have worked as a Party Helper for Jenny Entertainment and as an Aircraft Cleaner at Albert Whitted Airport. These roles required attention to detail, physical stamina, and the ability to work effectively in a team.

Looking ahead, my career goal is to become a firefighter. I am dedicated to pursuing an Associate of Science degree in Emergency Medical Technology (EMT) to further my qualifications for this role. My previous experiences and the skills I have acquired have fueled my passion for helping others during times of crisis, and I am eager to continue on this path to make a positive impact in my community.

My commitment to academic excellence is reflected in the awards I have received, including the Dr. Vilma Fernandez-Zalupski Hispanic and Latino Academic Excellence Award and recognition from The National Society of High School Scholars in 2023.

In summary, I am a diligent and compassionate individual with a strong educational background, diverse experiences, and a clear aspiration to become a firefighter while pursuing an AS degree in EMT. My bilingual abilities, internship experiences, and dedication to personal and professional growth make me a promising candidate for a career in emergency services.
