Alena Gonebnyy

My goal is to build a career in business and financial planning, where I can continue growing professionally while helping others achieve their goals. I hope to combine analytical thinking, leadership, and strong communication skills to provide meaningful guidance, create opportunities, and make a positive impact through my work.

I am interested in pursuing a graduate degree in business analytics to deepen my understanding of data analysis, business strategy, and decision-making. I hope to apply my passion for mathematics to interpreting data, solving complex business problems, and making informed decisions. Through graduate study, I want to develop the technical, analytical, and strategic skills needed to help organizations make effective, data-driven decisions.

Outside the classroom, I develop my leadership and professional skills as VP of Social Media & Technology at the nonprofit organization Pledge to Humanity, I co-founded the chapter at our high school, organize service projects & events, coordinate activities and encourage student involvement. I also design and publish creative weekly digital media campaigns across social platforms to increase chapter engagement and expand community reach as well as participate actively in community service and volunteer at shelters, hospitals, retirement homes, and more.

Through my internship at a financial planning firm Certified Planners, Inc. I'm gaining firsthand experience in financial planning firsthand by supporting work related to clients, financial goals, and informed financial decisions, while gaining insight into the business side of financial planning and how the firm operates, I help manage daily administrative tasks, organize and upload files into the firm’s electronic databases, sort data, preparing and finalize accounts and reports.

I founded AI 4 Students, a blog dedicated to helping students understand artificial intelligence and learn how to use it responsibly and effectively. I research emerging AI tools and topics and publish biweekly posts that explain complex concepts in an accessible, student-friendly way.

I'm also Captain of our school's Varsity Dance team, we compete annually at UDA Nationals in Orlando, FL and are currently ranked 6th in the nation. As Captain, I help organize team events, communicate with my coach and teammates, send out important information and updates, support everyone and help with any questions.
