Alexis Renee Cerda

I am currently a Freshman at Texas A&M University - Corpus Christi and majoring in Nursing. I am studying to become an Oncology Nurse Practitioner in Harlingen, Texas, the city I grew up in. I plan to go back to my hometown because there an oncology doctor who is famous here for his great work and I would really love to work under him. I am the first to go to college in my entire family and it would be awesome to be the first to graduate with a nursing degree. My dad is my role model he has taught me to be the independent women I am today. He has his own company in construction and it barely makes enough to support my mother and two brothers. I played softball for eleven years and have gotten an award each year for all star, most valuable player, first team all district, etc. I was also involved in the STEM program in high-school and plan to become a part of it at TAMUCC.
