Alexis Story

I am a Senior at Rowan University, earning my Bachelor of Arts degree in public relations with a minor in law and justice. After researching clients and the company and learning more about the job I am enthusiastic about the possibility of joining your team! My work experience and my educational background make me an excellent candidate for the position.

I am interested in social media’s application in public relations and marketing; I am eager to use it to improve, grow, and expand communication strategies. Additionally, I would love the opportunity to help business development, customer experience, and executive strategy.

For the past few years, I have excelled in my studies both in public relations and law and justice, earning a 3.2 GPA. I am proficient in computer programs such as: Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Quark Xpress, Windows and Internet Explorer. Furthermore, my work experiences over the years have enhanced my interpersonal communication skills and enriched my ability to interact professionally.

Currently, I work for a music promotion company called the Art-of-Electronica. I am a team manager responsible for promoters in South Jersey and Philadelphia. In my position, I recruit members to help promote events through social media and word of mouth advertising, and to help hand out flyers and posters at events, college campuses, and around businesses. I also manage ticket sales, money, VIP and guest lists, merchandise sales, and I run contests to win tickets to our events. I have worked my way up from a promoter to a manager in less than a year. My duties and experiences with the Art-of-Electronica have enhanced my aptitude with time management and organizational skills, my ability to interact and appeal to different audiences, and strengthened my communication skills. I have also been a server and bartender for eight years. I have an enthusiastic and outgoing personality and have the capacity to multi-task and work efficiently under pressure. I am putting myself through school working two jobs and living on my own, this has helped me achieve problem solving methods and time and money management.
