About

My name is Aliya Moldabekova. I am 19 years old and my hometown is Kazakhstan. Currently I am a sophomore at Pace University, major is accounting. I moved to New York City three years ago and transferred to the Edward R Murrow High School. After my high school graduation, I was worried about my future because my English skills were not perfect. It was hard for me to study with a completely different language and different program. Knowing only Russian language as a native it was pretty uncomfortable to study in English. But now, I can say that I am very happy that I am studying at Pace. It was my first choice from the beginning, and now I am very glad and proud of myself to be in honor society program. As I remember from my childhood till now my favorite subject was math. I feel that I can easily understand the problem and solve it quickly. I can say that I am a responsible, hard-working and friendly person. I am very positive about every aspect of life. There are many things I like to do, to see, and to experience. I like to go to the museums, different shows and concerts. In New York City every weekend I go to the different places and experience new things and lots of traditional food from all over the world. I believe that friendship is one of the most important values in human life. We exchange new ideas, find many interesting things about each other and experience new things. I appreciate friendship and people who surround me.

Goals and interests

Outside the classroom

I would like to share with you my hobbies. I'm sure everyone has some sort of a hobby, many people like to read in their spare time, others are engaged in learning, dancing, taking pictures, etc. Personally, like many others I like to walk, to travel and learn something new. Since I moved to New York three years have passed and in that time I have visited a lot of different exhibitions, galleries, theaters, concerts, restaurants with delicious food. I am sure that this wonderful city has not yet revealed all its secrets, and more is yet to come.
One of my favorite museums in the city, I probably call Metropolitan Museum and the Guggenheim museum. For me, this museum seemed the most interesting. Metropolitan museum is so amazing and it is very unique by a mixture of all cultures around the globe. If anyone wants to visit the museum and see everything at a time starting from the sculptures, paintings, furniture finishing known Faberge eggs? Then I would definitely recommend it. However, Guggenheim museum distinguished by its uniqueness and creative approach to each picture. Every piece of art has a zest that makes you stay in front of the portrait for hours.
