About

The transcript that I added was from my first Master's degree.
I do not have unofficial transcripts from my current school, The Chicago School of Professional Psychology, with a 4.0.
Before receiving two Master’s degrees, the first in Women, Gender and Human Rights, and the second is Mental Health Counseling in disaster/ emergency or traumas. I also studied abroad in France, as well as backpacking throughout Europe in order to get the full effect of the cultures and beauty that surrounded us. After graduation, I worked at CNN for many years as an Associate Producer, mainly as a documentary producer for our unit, “In America” which allowed me to spend a great deal of time with other colleagues or families we may be interviewing, and living amongst them in order to tell their stories. I won two Peabody Awards, an Edward R. Murrow award and a Silver World Medal at the New York Film Festival. When I left CNN, it was because I had another calling, not to just tell the story, but to be apart of the focus for change on the ground and truly apart of communities in the United States and abroad. I spent many months in India volunteering as a teacher of ASL to hearing impaired children in Bangalore. I accomplished similar work in Thailand and South Korea. I am so very interested in this opportunity, as this direction has always been my goal and ambition.
Thank you for the opportunity and taking the time to read my letter!

Goals and interests

Career goal

I would very much like to work in emergency/ disaster counselor. I would like to be on the ground with the people facing hurricane or man-made disasters working on the aftermath with professionals such as doctors, emergency management assessing the damage, and I believe there should be a counselor there for the people, the people facing PTSD, or that lost everything, including friends and families. I would like to help these people face the tragedy, and that they are not alone.

Graduate school interests

I helped in matters of research assisting, and would also like to pursue my PhD in emergency and disaster counseling. However, aside from completing and enjoying school, I also have the time to read books that are not on the curriculum, doing research for the paper I would like to get published.

Outside the classroom

Travel. I have traveled all over Europe and Asia, including India, Thailand and South Korea for example. Geography, restoration of older maps For instance, Tim Marshall's books on maps and the restructuring of the borders of the world. I take photos as a hobby. I sometimes assist on Movie set day players as scene shooting
