Allison Brown

I am a student at Gustavus Adolphus College in Minnesota majoring in Environmental Studies and minoring in Geography and Peace Studies. I have had a deep love and appreciation of the natural world since my childhood and am pursuing a course of study that allows me to cultivate a deep understanding of the earth and all its processes. My coursework has include courses in the disciplines of geology, geography, environmental studies, and biology. I also have a fascination with the social sciences and how they factor into the problems affecting the environment today, and have taken courses in political science, human geography, anthropology, and peace studies to understand and connect the social sciences with the natural sciences.

After graduation I am hoping to apply the knowledge from my coursework in a natural resource management or conservation position with an organization such as the Department of Natural Resources. I am also interested in researching and writing about the various environmental issues affecting the world today.
