Goals and interests

Career goal

After graduation, I aspire to go into the field of education to enhance the learning of students through a variety of ways. The most obvious way that I could achieve this goal is through directly teaching students in an educational setting such as a school, but there are other ways to accomplish this goal. Another way that I have been contemplating is by beginning a non-profit organization that would be directed at assisting students, teachers, and parents in their educational journey. There is also another option that I have been interested in, which is more closely related to my second field of study, history. This option revolves around the teaching of public history through organizations such as museums and libraries to preserve and educate the community about local, national, or even global history.

Graduate school interests

I am interested in pursuing a masters program in library sciences to open up possibilities of working in libraries and archives to preserve and protect historical materials. I have also been looking into masters programs surrounding counseling or guidance to become a guidance counselor in schools.

Outside the classroom

As a full-time student, free time is hard to come by, but when I do have some spare time I enjoy taking some time to relax and spend time with friends and family. I love exploring new places and visiting lots of museums, coffee shops, used bookstores, state parks, and other hidden gems. I also enjoy spending time outside playing sand volleyball, watching ultimate frisbee (because I can never get the hang of tossing a frisbee to directly to a person), and simply enjoying the nice weather.
