About
I am currently enrolled as a student at East Mecklenburg High School in the IB (international baccalaureate) program. As a student on the biomedical career pathway, I am required to take a certain amount of IB classes as well as PLTW (project lead the way) biomedical classes. I have taken three AP classes, three PLTW classes, and two IB SL level classes along with several other standard IB classes. I have received several academic awards and recognitions such as being inducted into the National Honor Society as well as the National Technical Honor Society. I have been on honor roll every year since sixth grade, received a 32 on the ACT, and ended my junior year with a 4.54 GPA. My class rank, being in the top 5%, made me a junior marshal, and because of this I received the privilege of participating in the 2023 graduation. Along with working extremely hard in school, I participate in several extracurricular activities which I have received recognition for. I play varsity volleyball, and have received several awards including All Conference, All Region, National Athletic Honor Society, AVCA Phenom, and several coaches awards for my statistical records on the team. I am currently a second year Captain for the varsity team, and I have had a wonderful time helping my teammates and the program grow and develop. During my sophomore year, I was selected by my athletic director to represent my school on the district’s new Student Athlete Advisory Council, and have since become Vice President of the council. Being a part of this council I have played an integral role in the planning and organizing of several different events, and have received recognition within the council and from various organizations for these achievements. I am planning to continue making strides and working hard for similar achievements throughout my senior year, and throughout college as well!

Goals and interests
- Career goal
I wish to pursue a career in marine ecology. My biggest dream is to conduct research on the Great Barrier Reef and contribute to conservation efforts through scientific research. I feel that studying the relationships between the environment and its inhabitants will be crucial in future ocean conservation efforts.
My true passion, however, is the animals within the ocean. For this reason, my ideal line of study involves field work, in which I can study and observe directly how the conditions of a habitat can affect animal behavior. I see this career field as fulfilling not only because it is a passion of mine, but because it serves a purpose within the world. Growing up, I always knew that I wanted to work with animals. Going to the beach with my family throughout my childhood and seeing the different marine animals inspired me more than I ever would have imagined.- Graduate school interests
I would like to pursue a Master's Degree in marine biology or marine science, ideally somewhere where I am able to gain hands on experience and connections for future employment.
