I am presently enroll in the master’s program, this curriculum will allow me the opportunity to obtain clinical insight of mental health counseling, and offers experiences which would be vital for my specialize field. I am interested in the unique way in which both the mind and body function, and learning and understanding the reason why an individual behave in a particular manner and it will also permit me to gain a better appreciation of my environment, identifying and implementing various counseling techniques to address the process of self- examining/ soul searching and personal therapy. As I work toward becoming a competent and an effective professional.
I have been a register nurse for more than 20 years, and have 36 years of experience in the medical field. I obtained my AND in 1991 from Edna McConnell School of Nursing which was affiliated with the Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center in New York City. I received my BA in Health Administration in 1996 from St. Joseph College in Brooklyn New York, and recently complete a two day workshop call train the trainer which allowed me to receive a certificate that would permit me to teach or open a CNA training school. I have work in just about every unit in the hospital. I did some travel assignments, as well as working as a case manager doing home health nursing, such as a RN hospice case manager. I was the owner of a personal care home, and operates flower arrangement –artistic design company; am also an author of three books one of which is a poetry book. i am a foster parent for the past four years. My tutorial journey has brought me closer to see the vision of my dream of becoming a licensed practicing mental health counselor.
