Amanda Chatelain

I am currently an undergraduate student at the University of New Orleans working towards my degree in Psychology. After I recieve my Bachelor's degree here at UNO for Psychology, I intend to jump headfirst into the glorious career path of Art Therapy. Art Therapy aims to use elements of the creative process to enhance one's healing process. Art Therapy uses the knowledge and understanding of human development and psychological techniques with visual arts to improve ones psychological health, cognitive abilities, and/or sensory-motor functions. With the use of artistic media and imagery, Art Therapy has the ability to unlock emotional expression and ultimately help people manage behavior, resolve conflicts, increase self-esteem, develop interpersonal skills, and/or reduce stress.
